Island Gypsy
36 Motor Yacht
1992–2002
The Island Gypsy 36 Motor Yacht is a traditional sundeck trawler with a distinctive stepped sheer and a clean, well-proportioned profile. She’s heavily built on a relatively beamy semi-displacement hull, and the simulated lapstrake grooves in the hullsides give her the look of a classic wood-built trawler. Island Gypsy offers a couple of two-stateroom layouts for the 36 MY, one with a walkaround double berth forward and the other with conventional V-berths. Both floorplans provide separate stall showers for both heads—a real plus when cruising with guests. The galley is up, just aft of the lower helm, and port and starboard deck doors provide easy outside access. Note that a three-stateroom layout is also available. The Island Gypsy 36 MY comes with a full Burmese teak interior as well as a teak overlay on the decks and cabintop. Additional features include excellent storage, a gas-assist engine room hatch in the salon, teak-and-holly sole, and teak caprails. Among several engine options, a single 210hp Cummins cruise at 7–8 knots, and twin 210hp Cummins diesels cruise at 11–12 knots and reach 15 knots wide open.
