The Trojan 14 Meter Convertible is a sleek, mega-volume family cruising yacht with genuine fishboat capabilities. She’s a revised version of the Trojan 13 Meter Sedan introduced a year earlier with pretty much the same interior, but a much larger cockpit. The 14 Meter was a very stylish boat in the late 1980s with a rakish profile and a cavernous, Euro-style interior. With a wide 16-foot, 3-inch beam, her stable DeltaConic hull accommodates an expansive two-stateroom interior, each with private head access and a full-size stall shower. The master stateroom is forward in this layout, and a breakfast bar in the salon overlooks the lower-level galley. (Note that the guest stateroom extends under the salon sole.) The cockpit is huge: designed for fishing or cruising, it came standard with a transom door, storage boxes, and a tackle center. The flybridge is also huge with an expansive lounge area (including a wet bar) forward of the helm. On the downside, forward helm visibility is a mixed bag, and there’s no cockpit entryway to the engine room. Optional 750hp 8V92 Detroit diesels cruise the 14 Meter Convertible in the mid 20s and reach a top speed of just under 30 knots.
