28 Sedan

1976–79

Trojan Yachts 28 Sedan
With her mega-wide beam, the Trojan 28 Sedan Cruiser is perhaps best described as a very big 28-footer. (Indeed, her 12-foot, 3-inch beam is about what you’d expect in a 35-foot boat.) Introduced back in 1976, the 28 rides on a solid fiberglass hull with modest transom deadrise and a shallow keel for directional stability. The sleeping arrangements in this boat are impressive, made possible by her great beam. In the main cabin, the settee converts to a double berth, while the dinette table and L-shaped lounge convert to a triple. A compact galley is forward in the salon, and a lower helm station was standard. The head compartment is a tight fit. While the cockpit is small, the huge flybridge can accommodate as many as five people—probably more topside weight than advisable. Note that the marine plywood cabin bulkhead requires plenty of maintenance to keep it looking good. The standard fuel capacity of just 100 gallons is a problem (an additional 50 gallons was optional), and the cabin windows are made of plastic. A really hard ride in a chop, twin 225hp V-drive Chrysler inboards cruise around 20 knots. The top speed is 27–28 knots.
