10.8 Meter Express

A stylish boat in her day, the 10.8 Meter Express was introduced in 1991 by Trojan just before the company declared bankruptcy. (For the record, Trojan’s assets—including the name—were quickly acquired by Miramar Marine, owner of Hatteras, Wellcraft, Carver, etc., and this boat was reintroduced in 1993 as the “new” Trojan 370 Express.) The 10.8 Meter was constructed on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with a relatively wide beam for her length. Note that unlike other Trojan express cruisers, the 10.8 Meter did not employ a DeltaConic hull bottom. The mid-cabin floorplan is very spacious for a 35-footer with double berths fore and aft, a good-size galley, full dinette, and a separate stall shower in the head. A draw curtain provides privacy aft while the forward stateroom has a door—a definite plus. Outside, there’s plenty of room for a crowd in the bi-level cockpit, and the entire deck aft of the helm can be raised hydraulically for access to the engines and V-drives. Among several engine options, big-block 8.1L gas inboards cruise the 10.8 Meter Express at 18 knots and reach a top speed of about 28 knots.
