Sea Ranger
45 Aft Cabin
1982–89
A good-selling boat in the 1980s boat, the Sea Ranger 45 is a conventional aft-cabin Taiwan cruising yacht whose principal highlights include spacious cabin accommodations, solid fiberglass construction, and excellent range. She was built on a seakindly semi-displacement hull with moderate beam and a full-length, prop-protecting keel. Two floorplans were offered during her production years; a galley-down two-stateroom layout with a wide-open salon, and a more popular three-stateroom arrangement with the U-shaped galley aft in the salon. Either way, the master stateroom is fitted with a centerline island berth, and both heads have separate stall showers. The full-width aft deck of the Sea Ranger 45 is one of the largest to be found in a boat this size (over 140 square feet), and most were sold with an optional hardtop and waist-high enclosure panels. Additional features include teak decks, a large flybridge, bow pulpit, and a swim platform. Optional 235/255hp Volvo diesels cruise at 14 knots (about 17 knots top), and 375hp Cats cruise around 19 knots. The Sea Ranger 50 Cockpit MY is the same boat with a cockpit extension.
