Sea Ranger
39 Sedan
1980–83
Sedan-style trawlers are popular with those who are willing to trade the luxuries of a private aft stateroom for the versatility of an enlarged single-level deckhouse layout. Built by C&L Marine in Taiwan, the Sea Ranger 39 has a distinctive profile (note the rakish flybridge with its Euro-style overhang supports) to go with her practical floorplan. Her all-teak interior is arranged in the conventional manner with the portside galley forward and a built-in dinette and settee aft. While most 39 Sedans were sold with a two-stateroom layout, an alternate single-stateroom floorplan with a centerline double bed and tons of storage was also available. Outside, the wide side decks (partially shaded by a bridge overhang) are well-secured with raised bulwarks all around the house. The extended flybridge is enormous. With 600 gallons of fuel, the Sea Ranger 39 Sedan is capable of a thousand-mile cruising range (at her 7.5-knot hull speed) with twin 124hp Volvo or 120hp Lehman diesels.
