The Glacier Bay 2740 is a luxury-class catamaran with a spacious deck layout, tons of storage, and seating for a small crowd—a multipurpose utility boat for fishing, cruising, or entertaining. While hardcore anglers often dismiss dual-console designs, the boat-buying public has embraced the versatility of these boats in a big way. The 2740’s bow offers lots of fishing room, but the step up going forward can be a trip hazard. She rides on the same semi-displacement hulls as the old 2665 Canyon Runner, stretched a few inches on the centerline. Semi-displacement hulls have wide running surfaces that provide lift, buoyancy, and excellent fuel economy. Standard features in the 2740 include dual anchor lockers, forward fish boxes/coolers, walk-in console (to port) with marine head, walkthrough windshield, helm bench seat with flip-up bolster, lockable L-lounge storage cooler, wet bar with 20 gallon livewell, foldaway aft seats, in-deck fish boxes, centerline transom door, transom shower, raw-water washdown, cockpit lights, removable table, gunnel rod holders, rod storage racks, extended swim platform and cockpit bolsters. The 2740 DC will cruise at 20 knots with Yamaha F150s (low-to-mid 30s top).
