Glacier Bay

2690 Coastal Runner

2000–08

Glacier Bay 2690 Coastal Runner
With her fully enclosed pilothouse, cozy accommodations, and roomy cockpit, the Glacier Bay 2690 Coastal Runner hits all the right buttons for boaters looking for a versatile and fuel-efficient trailerable cruiser. Glacier Bay enthusiasts can argue about whether the Coastal Runner is more fishboat than family cruiser; the fact is that she’s a true crossover boat with genuine appeal to both groups. Like all Glacier Bay models, the 2690 rides on a pair of foam-filled hulls whose full-displacement design ensures a soft, stable ride even in challenging sea conditions. Entering the cabin via a sliding glass door, a two-person dinette—with refrigerator under the forward seat—is to port, and a small galley with sink and stove is to starboard, just behind the helm seat. Rod storage racks are overhead, and a queen berth is forward along with a 12V marine head with holding tank. Note that the cabin is slightly offset to port, which makes the starboard walkaround slightly wider than portside walkway. Cockpit features include a 32-gallon livewell, tackle box, two in-deck fish boxes, and a transom sink and cutting board. Yamaha 150s cruise efficiently at 25 knots (about 30 knots top).
