Glacier Bay

260-2665 Canyon Runner

1996–2010

Glacier Bay 260-2665 Canyon Runner
A popular model for Glacier Bay, the 260 Canyon Runner (called the 2665 in 2005–08) is one of the largest trailerable twin-hull fishing boats produced in recent years. Built in Washington state, Glacier Bay was a pioneer in the catamaran market during the early 1990s. Over time, the company earned a reputation for building rugged and durable boats. The 260 Canyon Runner rides on a pair of sharp, thin displacement hulls that were retooled in 1999 with a finer entry and wider chines. At 4,200 pounds without engines, she’s considerably lighter than most mono hull center consoles her size. And with less wetted surface to slow her down, the 2665 attains similar speeds with far less horsepower. The great allure of catamarans for anglers, however, is their stable ride and legendary rough-water handling qualities. Standard features include a leaning post with 35-gallon bait tank, console head compartment, fresh and raw water washdowns, two macerated in-deck fish boxes, bait prep station, and lockable rod storage. The boat’s deep cockpit is a plus and so is the aggressive nonskid. Twin 150hp 4-stroke Yamahas cruise at 25–26 knots at about two miles per gallon (low 30s top).
