Glacier Bay
3480 Ocean Runner
2005–08
This versatile catamaran express—with her semi-enclosed pilothouse and wide 13'3" beam—is part family cruiser, part fishing boat, and full-time entertainment platform. Like most cat designs, the Ocean Runner has the deck space of a much larger boat. Indeed, her huge cockpit and roomy helm deck dwarf those of most other express boats her size. Opening hatches in hardtop provide excellent ventilation at the helm, and the cockpit’s two in-deck fish boxes and transom storage locker are cavernous. Below deck, the starboard hull contains the galley (aft) and a guest stateroom (or office) forward. The master stateroom is in the portside hull where the boat’s head and shower are aft. Note the nav station in the guest stateroom. Additional features include a wide transom door, aft-facing cockpit jump seat, 45-gallon livewell, full tackle center, copious rod storage, two bow anchor lockers, and an anchor chute with roller. The displacement hulls of the 3480 Ocean Runner provide a soft, stable ride. Available with inboard or outboard power, Cummins 380hp V-drive diesels reach 28–30 knots top. Twin 250hp Yamaha outboards top out at close to 28 knots.
