Uniflite

26 Sedan

1978–83

Uniflite 26 Sedan
Still a good-looking small cruiser in spite of her age, the Uniflite 26 Sedan is one of a handful of flybridge boats under 28 feet in length. (If it weren’t for her wide beam, it would be impossible for the 26 Sedan to handle the added weight of a flybridge without becoming potentially unstable.) Like all Uniflite models, hull construction was solid fiberglass throughout, and fire-retardant resins were used in the laminate that ultimately caused many Uniflites to suffer gelcoat blisters. Perhaps her most unusual feature is found in the forward cabin where an offset double berth replaced the V-berth found in most boats her size. Also unusual was the portside location of the lower helm. There’s a shower in the head, and storage is better than average for a boat this size. The cockpit includes molded steps and in-deck storage bins. Topside, the flybridge is fitted with a doublewide helm seat and L-shaped lounge seating. Additional features include a teak interior, a surprisingly roomy galley, good engine access, and decent side decks. Among several power options, a single 270hp Crusader inboard will cruise the Uniflite 26 Sedan at about 15 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 22–23 knots.
