62 Pilothouse
2001–04
Designed by Jack Sarin and built in Taiwan, the Symbol 64 Pilothouse (called the 62 Pilothouse in 2001–02) is a beaujpgully styled cruising yacht whose appeal goes beyond her handsome lines. Equally impressive is her expansive interior made possible by a wide 18'6" beam. She rides on a modified-V hull with cored hullsides, prop pockets, and a shallow keel for directional stability. Her three-stateroom layout has a spacious master suite and two guest cabins on the lower deck, one a double and the other with twin berths. The galley and dinette are forward on the pilothouse level and separated from the salon by a partial bulkhead. Visibility from the lower helm is very good, and port and starboard doors provide access to the side decks. The salon seems surprisingly large, and the satin-finished teak (or cherry) interior woodwork is well finished and visually appealing. Topside, both the side decks and aft deck are sheltered by bridge overhangs, and the spacious flybridge will comfortably seat a small crowd. Cat 800hp diesels cruise the Symbol 62 Pilothouse at 18 knots (20+ knots top). A stretched version of this yacht, the Symbol 68 Pilothouse, was also available.
