Contender
39 ST
2013–Current
Available with a twin-stepped or traditional deep-V hull, the Contender 39 is a big offshore tournament machine guaranteed to turn heads wherever she goes. Quality like this isn’t cheap, and the fortunate few able to own one of these high-performance boats can rest easy knowing that it doesn’t any better than this in a purebred offshore fishing platform. Like all Contenders, the 39 ST is a semicustom boat and each is set up differently depending on the owner. There are two console choices: The standard front entrance console has rod holders on each side, and a larger console with a side entrance to a standup head compartment with sink and slide-away toilet. The enormous storage capacity of the 39 ST includes a forward in-deck 260-gallon fish box, 145-gallon in-deck fish box, and port and starboard 105-gallon fish boxes aft. The transom has two 40-gallon livewells, and another 68-gallon well is aft of the leaning post. Options include full tower with controls, coffin box on electric ram with removable backrest, extra 100-gallon fuel capacity, underwater lights, and custom sea chest. Over 60 knots top with triple 350hp Yamaha V8s. A luxury “LS” version with bow and aft seating and hydraulic table is also available.
