Contender
35 ST
2009–Current
Contender is well known for producing some of the best performing center console fishing boats on the water, and the 35 ST meets those expectations and more. A serious saltwater fishing machine, the 35 ST is a semicustom boat meaning you can have one equipped just the way you want as long as the boat’s structural integrity is not compromised. The twin step hull provides dramatic performance increases not only in speed, but also in fuel efficiency. The single-level deck provides easy access to livewells, fish storage boxes and wide, unobstructed walkways around the console. Many used 35 STs are fitted with two 40-gallon livewells in the transom, but optional livewells—including an in-deck 50-gallon unit—are available for those who need more bait storage. The bow area can be fitted with U-shaped molded seats or a coffin box, and a removable bench seat at the stern allows the crew to relax when not chasing fish. The 35 ST has a step-down console with a head compartment and lockable storage. Options are many, however K-Plane trim tabs, recessed bow rails, and a transom door are standard. Triple F300 Yamaha outboards deliver a top speed of over 60 knots.
