Offshore Yachts 52 Sedan
An ideal cruising yacht for those who appreciate the versatility of a sedan layout, the Offshore 52 Sedan combines a spacious interior and an efficient, seakindly hull in what most observers will agree is a handsome, well-finished yacht. Built in Taiwan, her modified-V hull incorporates a very wide 16-foot, 10-inch beam with a cutaway keel and generous flare at the bow. Below, her three-stateroom floorplan is arranged with the galley forward in the salon, opposite the lower helm. (Note the sliding deck door in the galley—very convenient for bringing provisions aboard.) A salon stairway abaft the lower helm provides access to the flybridge, and solid teak cabinets, a teak-and-holly cabin sole, and vinyl overheads highlight the interior. Two of the three staterooms are fitted with double berths, and both heads have separate stall showers. Additional features include a good-size cockpit with transom door and storage bins, wide side decks, a large engine room, and a spacious flybridge with room for a dinghy. A modest performer, twin 485hp 6-71 Detroits cruise the 52 Sedan at 14–15 knots and reach about 18 knots top. Later models with 450hp Cummins—or 435hp Cats—will cruise at similar speeds.
