Offshore Yachts
48 Yachtfish
1985–98
Built by Tung Hwa in Taiwan, the Offshore 48 Yachtfisher is a traditional aft cabin cockpit yacht with a distinctive trawler-style appearance and versatile interior layout. The low-freeboard hull is cored from the chine up, and a generous 15'6" beam allows for wide walkaround side decks that are protected with raised bulwarks. The Offshore’s comfortable two-stateroom galley-down floorplan was available with or without a fixed settee/dinette in the salon. A serving counter with two bar stools overlooks the galley, and large windows provide plenty of natural lighting throughout the salon. A lower helm and dual sliding deck doors are standard. Aft, the full-beam master stateroom with en suite head features teak cabinetry and a large window and door leading aft to the cockpit. The forward guest stateroom was available with V-berths or an offset double berth. Both heads contain separate stall showers. The aft deck offers plenty of space for a variety of deck furniture. Although called a Yachtfisher, the cockpit is best suited for boarding and swimming. Among several diesel options, twin 375hp Cat diesels cruise the Offshore 48 at 16 knots, and later models with 435hp Cats cruise at 18 knots.
