60 Marquessa Cockpit MY
1987–2003
REVIEW
The Jefferson 60 Marquessa is a traditional cockpit motor yacht whose chief attributes include a spacious teak interior, hefty construction, and a very competitive price. Like many of her siblings in the Jefferson fleet, the Jefferson rides on a low-deadrise modified-V hull with moderate beam, a solid fiberglass bottom, and a long keel for directional stability. While a four-stateroom interior is available, the standard layout has three staterooms including an extravagant master suite with a walk-in closet and a tub in the private head. Note that a corridor separates the Marquessa’s standup engine rooms, a layout that offers excellent access to the pumps and motors. On the deckhouse level, the wheelhouse is open to the full-beam salon with its formal dining area and U-shaped galley. If there’s a downside to the Marquessa, it’s her small afterdeck which is really little more than a mezzanine overlooking the cockpit. Additional features include pilothouse deck doors, inside flybridge access, and a standard washer/dryer. Cat 800hp diesels will cruise the Marquessa at 18–19 knots (low 20s top). Note that a eurosyle step-up transom was added in 2002.
