Jefferson Yachts 5300 International
The Jefferson 5300 International is a well-styled pilothouse yacht (built in Taiwan) whose affordable price and well-finished interior made her an attractive alternative to more expensive European and American pilothouse designs. Constructed on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with moderate beam, the spacious three-stateroom interior of the 5300 International is arranged with the galley and dinette forward, two steps up from the salon. The master stateroom is forward in this layout, while both guest staterooms share a common head. Visibility from the lower helm is very good, and the double helm seat converts into a sofa that faces the dining table. A gas-assist hatch in the cockpit floor opens into a large storage lazarette which, in turn, leads into a rather compact engine room. Topside, the centerline helm is forward on the flybridge with guest seating aft. Additional features include wide side decks, a deep anchor well, central vacuum system, transom door, radar arch, and integral swim platform. Twin 600hp MTU diesels cruise the Jefferson 5300 at 22–23 knots and reach a top speed in the mid to high 20s.
