339 Center Console
1996–2002
Among the larger center consoles built in recent years, the Intrepid 339 is a lightweight, high-performance fishing machine whose quality construction and balanced handling will appeal to veteran offshore anglers. Like all late-model Intrepid designs, the 339 rides on a deep-V hull with a stepped bottom—a race-proven design that reduces drag by breaking the water’s grip on the hull. The hull is vacuum-bagged for strength, and foam coring is used throughout to reduce weight. The 339 isn’t an especially roomy boat, but the cockpit is uncluttered and well arranged, and fit and finish is second to none. The forepeak head compartment is unique—enter the bow compartment, and a privacy tent deploys. Additional features of the 339 include a pair of 6-foot in-deck fish boxes, excellent storage, foldaway foredeck seating, and a superb helm console with plenty of space for flush-mounting electronics. An anchor locker, Bennett trim tabs, and twin dive platforms were standard. Note the absence of a transom door. A fast ride with twin 250hp outboards, the Intrepid 339 tops out in the high 40s.
