33 Sportfish Cruiser

2006–12

Fountain 33 Sportfish Cruiser
A great running boat, the 33 Sportfish Cruiser is a high-speed express with a wide 10'9" beam and Fountain’s fuel-efficient double-stepped hull bottom. The cockpit really impresses. Sporting deep in-deck fishboxes, two livewells, raw-water washdown, locking rod stowage, and 60 square feet of unobstructed fishing space abaft, the layout is arranged for serious work. A rigging station is at the transom, and at the cockpit’s forward end are another livewell and a tackle storage unit. The centerline helm position was a first for any Fountain boat but there’s not a lot of dash space for electronics. Below, the well-finished mid-cabin interior features a full service galley with under-counter refrigerator/freezer to port, an enclosed head/shower to starboard, and a convertible V-berth/dinette forward. Looking aft, under the helm deck is a double-berth sleeping area. Fountain is said to have fine-tuned the hull beginning with the 2007 models. At the helm, the 33 Sportfish Cruiser handles like a sports car which is impressive for a stepped-hull boat. On the downside, it’s a tight fit getting down into the cabin. No lightweight, Mercury 275hp outboards top out at over 40 knots.
