31 Center Console

1997–2010

Fountain 31 Center Console
A seriously popular boat with kingfish anglers, the Fountain 31 Center Console was offered with or without a forward cuddy cabin, with the latter—called the “Tournament Edition”—being the more popular. This is obviously a boat designed for anglers who want to get where they're going in a hurry. Fountain built a strong boat; the 31’s hull is fully cored, and the stringer system is known to withstand a terrific pounding. While a hull this narrow might normally be prone to roll in a beam sea, the flat pad at the stern of the 31 provides extra lift as well as reducing roll. The deck layout is arranged with a 50-gallon above deck livewell aft, a large insulated fish box under the console seat, and in-floor storage forward of the console. (An enclosed head compartment in the console is optional.) A lockable electronics box sits atop the dash, and the skipper can easily reach the controls from the standard leaning post helm seat. The cuddy of the Tournament Edition houses a V-berth, Porta-Potti, and rod holders. Additional standard features include a big anchor locker, factory T-top, and heavy-duty trim tabs. With twin 250hp outboards, the 31 Center Console tops out at over 50 knots.
