Fountain
31-32 Sportfish Cruiser
1993–2003
The Fountain 31 and 32 Sportfish Cruisers (the 31 is outboard-powered and the 32 is a sterndrive model) are a pair of quality speedsters for anglers looking to get an edge on the competition. These are versatile boats—while neither can double as a family cruiser due to their too-small cabin, the stylish appearance of the 31/32 SFC will appeal to sportboat enthusiasts and anglers will appreciate the larger cockpit of the 31. Built on a narrow, fully cored hull with a wide pad at the stern, both boats are quick to accelerate and fast across the water. While the deck layouts differ, both come with fish box (the 31 has two), circulating livewell, rod holders, and a half tower with electronics box and enclosure. The side decks, accessed via molded steps in the cockpit, are wide enough for easy bow access. Below, the cabin includes a V-berth, mini-galley, and an enclosed head with sink and shower. With twin 225hp Mercury outboards, the Fountain 31 will reach a top speed of over 50 knots, while a pair of 275hp MerCruiser sterndrives cruise the Fountain 32 at 35 knots and reach a top speed in the low 50s. Note that 32 SFCs built after 2002 ride on a stepped hull bottom.
