29 Center Console

Introduced in 1993 as a 27-footer (a redesigned transom the following year added 2 feet to the hull length), the Fountain 29 is a fast-action fishing machine for anglers who place a premium on open-water performance. She’s built on a narrow deep-V hull with a keel pad and 22 degrees of transom deadrise. At just over 5,000 pounds. the Fountain 29 is a light boat for her size, and a lot of high-tech construction techniques—including vinylester resins and high-density foam cores—went into keeping the weight down. While most other 29-footers have larger cockpits, the deck layout of the Fountain is uncluttered and functional with a 50-gallon circulating livewell in the transom, multiple rod holders, raw-water washdown, in-floor storage, and a step-up casting platform forward with dry storage under. The console is designed with a lockable electronics box and bench seating forward, but it’s notable that there’s no enclosed head compartment within the console. A leaning post with a backrest and a tackle center is standard. This is a very fast boat with a reputation for capable handling in rough seas. Twin 200hp outboards cruise at 35 knots and reach a top speed of 50+ knots.
