The Ferretti 225 Motor Yacht is a well-engineered Italian motor yacht whose superb performance and dramatic styling made her a standout among other yachts of her era. She’s heavily built on a high-tech modified-V hull with a wide beam, cored hullsides, and the grid-type hull reinforcement seen in several production European designs. Accommodations include four staterooms for owner and guests with four full heads. The Ferretti’s lush galley-up interior is a rich blend of cherrywood and leather, and the salon bulkhead can be opened up to the aft deck to further increase entertainment space. The quality of the interior woodwork is remarkable. Note the twin-berth crew cabin aft, beneath the cockpit. Outside, the decks are covered with a teak overlay, and the flybridge of the Ferretti 225 is extravagant with all of the amenities one might expect on a yacht of this caliber. The deep swim platform is designed to stow an inflatable dinghy, and there’s a cavernous storage compartment inside the platform for a jet ski. An exciting performer for her size, standard 1,250hp V-drive Cat diesels cruise at 24 knots (about 28 knots top), and optional 1,850hp (16-cylinder) MANs produce a top speed of 35+ knots.
