57
An impressive display of bold styling and state of the art construction, the Ferretti 57 was a benchmark against which other European production motor yachts of her era were measured. Built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull, the lavish interior of the Ferretti 57 is arranged with a standard lower helm with excellent visibility, a sunken galley in the salon, and four staterooms, one of which—with upper and lower berths—is accessed from the galley. (Note that a crew cabin with a single berth and head is reached from a door in the cockpit.) Unlike most European motor yachts, the Ferretti 57 has a reasonably spacious engine room (compared with other euroyachts her size) with good access to the motors. Topside, there’s seating on the flybridge for a small crowd, and the bridge overhang shades the cockpit. Additional features include an underwater exhaust system, high-gloss cherry interior woodwork, a bow thruster, teak cockpit sole, and a large foredeck sun pad. A solid sales success, 800hp MAN diesels cruise the Ferretti 57 at 26–28 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 30 knots.
