50
A well-finished yacht whose aggressive styling still looks good today, the Ferretti 50 (originally called the Ferretti 150) was built in Italy at a yard long recognized for its high-tech approach to boatbuilding. Constructed on an easy-riding, deep-V hull with underwater exhausts and cored hullsides, her fully integrated swim platform is designed to stow (and launch) an inflatable or jet ski. As it is with most European interiors, the three-stateroom interior of the Ferretti 50 is a departure from what American buyers are accustomed to seeing. Specifically, the galley is tucked in an alcove below the salon where it’s out of the way. The result is a wide-open deckhouse with a six-person dinette opposite the lower helm serving as a second entertainment area. The interior is rich in detail and accented by stunning woodwork, creative lighting, and fine leather upholstery. Note the single-berth crew cabin with toilet aft, below the cockpit. A well-arranged flybridge, spacious staterooms and a large engine room are just a few of her more notable features. Twin 600hp V-drive Cat (or MTU) diesels cruise the Ferretti 50 Motor Yacht at 25 knots while delivering a top speed of about 29–30 knots.
