A popular yacht during her late-1990s production years (about 40 were built, mostly for the European market), the Ferretti 185 is a convincing display of eye-catching Mediterranean styling and high-tech Italian craftsmanship. In the Italian tradition, all Ferrettis have a sleek and aggressive appearance, and the quality and finish of the 185 are simply outstanding. Her lush four-stateroom interior is designed with a sunken galley beneath the salon (with direct access to the crew cabin/fourth stateroom) and a second salon/dining area alongside the lower helm position. The main salon, dominated by a huge crushed-leather U-shaped sofa and high-gloss mahogany woodwork, looks out to the spacious aft deck through an all-glass aft bulkhead. The integral swim platform accommodates an inflatable and a jet ski and comes with a hydraulic davit. Topside, the Ferretti’s extended flybridge provides seating, sunbathing, and cruising amenities for a small crowd. On the downside, the engine room is a tight fit. A good performer with 1,150hp V-drive MTU diesels, the Ferretti 185 MY will cruise at an honest 26 knots and reach at top speed of around 30 knots.
