Egg Harbor Yachts
52 Sport Yacht
1997–2005
For many design enthusiasts, the Egg Harbor 52 Sport Yacht had it just about right—an impressive blend of beaujpgul styling, luxurious accommodations and excellent performance. Her tapered, modified-V hull has more bow flare than previous Egg Harbor models, and a sharp entry and low transom deadrise result in a dry and very maneuverable boat, quick to plane and a fast ride in open water. Her standard galley-up floorplan is arranged with the owner’s stateroom amidships (note the full bath in the adjoining head) and a guest stateroom forward, both with double berths. A small third stateroom is to port, partially tucked under the dinette. The lush salon of the Egg Harbor 52, with its high-gloss teak cabinetry and designer fabrics, is very wide which results in some fairly narrow side decks. The cockpit is one of the largest to be found in a 50-foot convertible. The same is true of the flybridge—it’s massive. Additional features include two big fish boxes, a transom baitwell and transom door. Among several engine choices offered since her introduction, twin 800hp Cats cruise the Egg Harbor 52 in the mid 20s and reach 30+ knots wide open.
