Egg Harbor Yachts
33 Sedan
1982–89
A descendent of the original Egg Harbor 33 built from 1971 to 1981, the new Egg Harbor 33 introduced in 1982 actually evolved from the Pacemaker 33 Sportfisherman that was introduced just before Pacemaker went out of business late in 1980. Egg Harbor picked up the tooling, revised the interior layout, and reintroduced her the following year as the new Egg 33. While the length and beam are identical to the original 33, this is an entirely different hull with hard aft chines and greater deadrise at the transom. Significantly, the fuel capacity of the newer model is 320 gallons—a big improvement from the 216 gallons found in the original 33—and a teak interior replaced the original 33 Sedan’s mahogany woodwork. Offered with one or two staterooms, the two-stateroom interior with the galley in the salon proved most popular over the years. Aside from her striking good looks, the 33 is a very fishable boat with a large cockpit and good fore-and-aft sightlines from the flybridge. On the downside, the side decks are narrow, and the smooth foredeck surface can be very slippery. Twin 350hp gas engines cruise the Egg Harbor 33 at 18–20 knots and reach a top speed in the high 20s.
