Egg Harbor Yachts
41 Motor Yacht
1975–77
The Egg Harbor 41 Motor Yacht is a traditional flushdeck design built on a solid fiberglass hull with a glassed-over mahogany superstructure. In terms of popularity, the 41 suffered from her wood construction during a period when most other builders had long since made the switch to all-fiberglass designs. Not unexpectedly, the production run was short-lived. Two interior floorplans were available (galley-up or galley-down versions), and an optional queen berth in the aft stateroom was offered from the beginning. Solid teak cabinets, teak paneling, and functional fabrics highlight the Egg’s very traditional interior. Topside, the semi-enclosed control station offers good helm visibility in all directions. The open aft deck is large enough for entertaining with plenty of room for several furniture arrangements. Additional features include wide side decks, generous storage, and a swim platform. The optional flybridge—small by today’s standards—greatly improves the resale value of used models. Among several engine options, twin 310hp J&T 6-71 diesels cruise around 16–18 knots and reach a top speed of just under 20 knots.
