Cheoy Lee Yachts 72 Cockpit Motor Yacht
Tom Fexas created some elegant designs for Cheoy Lee before he passed away a few years back, none more striking than the 72 Cockpit Motor Yacht. This beaujpgully proportioned raised pilothouse yacht, with her wide 20'2" beam, took motor yacht space and luxury to the next level when she was introduced in 2003. The standard accommodations plan has three staterooms on the lower deck: a full-beam master amidships, VIP double forward, and a second guest stateroom with twin berths. Each cabin has an en suite head, and the opulent master boasts a Jacuzzi and his-and-hers sinks as well. The 72’s home-size galley—with double-door refrigerator and acres of counter space—is on the pilothouse level where a booth-style dinette is forward next to the center helm position. The salon is aft, down several steps, with facing settees, a wet bar, and day head. Note the utility space aft of master stateroom. Crew quarters aft were optional. A wide aft deck overlooks a huge cockpit with in-deck storage lockers, watertight engine room door, and port and starboard boarding gates. Built on a fully cored hull, she’ll cruise at 18 knots with Cat 1,000hp C-18 engines (low 20s top).
