Cheoy Lee Yachts
32 Trawler
1977-86
After more than a decade in production, the Cheoy Lee 32 Trawler earned a reputation as a durable and economical small cruiser with a large cockpit and basic interior accommodations. Her solid fiberglass hull incorporates a deep forefoot and a full-length skeg for low-speed stability and prop protection. The cockpit, decks, and cabintop are teak-over-fiberglass, and the window frames, doors, and caprail are also teak. Wide side decks make passage around the deckhouse especially easy. Inside, the salon is narrow but comfortably functional. Visibility from the lower helm is very good thanks to large deckhouse windows. (Note the curved corner windows up front.) As with most Asian-built boats, traditional teak paneling and cabinetry are found throughout the interior. A spacious cockpit makes the 32 an excellent utility-type boat for fishing, diving, or coastal cruising. Additional features include port and starboard cockpit steps, good engine access, bow pulpit and swim platform, and a sliding deck door at the lower helm. A single Lehman 6-cylinder diesel provides economical 7-knot performance with a range of nearly 1,000 miles.
