Cheoy Lee Yachts 62 Trawler
With a super-wide 19-foot beam, the Cheoy Lee 62 Trawler has one of the more spacious interior layouts of any boat her size on the water. This is clearly a boat built for long-range, transoceanic cruising (the fuel capacity is well over 4,000 gallons!) with a range of some 5,000+ miles depending on the speed. The 62 Trawler is an all-fiberglass displacement boat, heavily built and weighing in at some 50 tons when fully loaded. The galley-up floorplan is arranged with five staterooms on the lower level, and two of the four heads are fitted with full-size bathtubs. The amidships VIP stateroom is huge—about as large as the owner’s aft stateroom. The galley is open to the salon on the main deck, and the wheelhouse is fully enclosed with its own dinette and flybridge access. The covered aft deck of the Cheoy Lee 62 is very spacious, and the wide walkaround side decks (teak) are well protected by a bridge overhang and raised bulwarks. Not surprisingly, the extended flybridge is huge with enough room for both an inflatable and a dinghy. A well-regarded yacht in her day, 210hp 3208 Cat diesels cruise the Cheoy Lee 62 at 8–10 knots.
