Cape Cod 26

2006–08

Albin Cape Cod 26
The Albin Cape Cod 26 is based on the original Cape Cod 26 built by Cape Cod Marine. Inboard power is rare in any small boat, and that’s especially true with center consoles which are nearly always designed for outboards. For anglers not in a rush, however, the single-diesel economy of the Albin 26 goes well with her seaworthy hull and uncluttered deck layout. The sub-console engine position lowers the center of gravity resulting in a comfortable ride. The hull is cored with end-grain balsa in the sides and the outboard sections of the hull bottom. A prop pocket allows her to explore in very shallow water. With the engine beneath the console there is no space for an enclosed head—instead, a portable head is housed beneath the forward hatch. Standard features include a two-part tuna door (!), forward console seat, livewell, recessed trim tabs, raw-water washdown, gunnel rod holders, cockpit bolsters, leaning post, lockable console storage, recessed bow rails, and a huge in-deck fish box forward. Note the cockpit toe rails. A 315hp Yanmar diesel will cruise at 20–22 knots (mid 20s top).
