Albin

33 Trawler

1979–80

Albin 33 Trawler
One of the smallest double cabin trawlers imported into this country, the Albin 33 enjoyed only a brief production run but used models seem to show up with some regularity on the used boat market. She’s basically a scaled-down version of Albin’s popular 36 Trawler—a traditional double-cabin design with a deckhouse galley and two private heads. She’s built of fiberglass on a semi-displacement hull with a sharp entry and generous flare at the bow, hard aft chines, and a deep keel for directional stability and prop protection. Typical of most Asian-built trawlers, the interior of the Albin 33 is completely finished with either teak or mahogany woodwork. A U-shaped dinette is abaft the lower helm, and there are two well-placed overhead grab-rails in the salon. The galley is on the small side but still adequate for basic food preparation. Port and starboard sliding salon doors provide easy access to the walkaround teak decks with their raised bulwarks. Topside, the flybridge offers seating for four. The Albin 33 Trawler burns about 3 gallons per hour at her 7-knot hull speed with a single 120hp Lehman diesel.
