The yachting industry in 2021 breathed life into the ever-evolving yachting market with larger and more luxurious vessels in all classes, and HMY has continued to grow with the market demands. Our team has experienced record sales in 2021. Of these sales, over 40 yachts have measured with a length of 80' or larger, including 12 yachts 100’ or larger. Sportfish
Of the yachts sold in this larger size range, our team at HMY Yacht Sales sold not only production sportfish over 80 feet, but custom sportfish as well. Some of the most notable large sportfish sold this year include the 2016 Viking 92’ Enclosed Bridge, “Fa La Me” and the 2005 Merritt 80’, “Speculator.”
“Fa La Me,” a 2016 Viking Enclosed Bridge was listed and sold by HMY Yacht Sales Professional Dave Berard at an asking price of $7,199,000. This vessel has had an extensive history of fishing in a variety of world-class fishing destinations. This build was constructed at the Viking Factory with a list of many custom additions. “Fa La Me” is truly outfitted for top-of-the-line fishing tournaments. She was a Bermuda Triple Crown winner in 2016 and is simply waiting for her next adventure offshore.
“Speculator,” a 2005 Merritt 80’ Sport Fisherman was also listed by HMY Yacht Sales Professional Dave Berard and sold by HMY Yacht Sales Professional Dave Meyer at an asking price of $3,750,000. She was built to cruise, fish, and entertain. “Speculator” offers a 4 stateroom, 5 head layout with accommodations for 6 guests, as well as a bunkroom for 2 crew.

American Built Yachts 80+ Feet
“Beeliever,” a 2005 Lazzara 116’ Motor Yacht was sold by HMY Yacht Sales professional Tony Lazzara. Accommodations include 4 large staterooms, including a spacious master and three VIPs. This 116’ Lazzara included additional features such as the famous American-style country kitchen and sky lounge.
The 2002 Hatteras 100’ Pilothouse, “Vesper” was listed by HMY Yacht Sales Professional John Haucke at an asking price of $2,995,000. She is the epitome of the 100 Hatteras raised pilothouse fleet. In the past 3 years, she received over 2 million dollars in custom refits and additions, including luxurious interior features with custom cherry woodwork.

Below are some of the most notable sales during 2021. Our team selected the following yachts. A 2005 Trinity 161’, “Remember When” a 2011 Christensen 162’, and “Q” a 2021 Ocean Alexander 118’.
The 2005 Trinity 161’ was sold by HMY Yacht Sales Professional Mark Parker.
The 2011 Christensen 162’, “Remember When” was built for an existing Christensen owner. She is hull #35 and is touted as the best-built Christensen ever due to its features. This stunning superyacht is classed ABS – Maltese Cross and MCA Unlimited Cruising Compliant, making it good for both American and European chartering. She was featured in a previous article online. “Q” the 2021 Ocean Alexander 118' 36L Motor Yacht, was listed by HMY Yacht Sales Professional Simon Graham at an asking price of $15,500,000. “Q” was not a listing to be missed. She was listed with low hours and a spacious layout that provides comfortable entertainment areas. Her luxurious interior is illuminated by the natural light that seeps in through her large, panoramic windows throughout.
“Q” was also featured in a social media walkthrough video where the HMY team highlighted some of her most unique features; of her most notable features seen online a full-beam on-deck master with a night head as well as a his and hers master bath, a spacious galley with two sub-zero refrigerators/freezers, and a Beach Club. For those who do not know what the Beach Club is, it is Ocean Alexander’s version of a private poolside cabana, offshore. The Beach Club is an air-conditioned entertainment area located aft, with a wet bar, ice maker, and a TV.
