Stamas

32 Continental

1982–87

Stamas 32 Continental
The 32 Continental was a 1980’s attempt by Stamas to deliver a “Eurostyle” cruiser with luxurious interior accommodations for as many as six adults. (For the record, the Stamas brand is generally associated with sturdy, well-crafted boats with efficient—not luxurious—interiors.) Built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam and a well-flared bow, the Continental was available with or without a flybridge. The flybridge model pictured here combines a comfortable interior with a large cockpit stretching from the lower helm to the transom. Wide side decks make access to the bow easy and safe, and there’s seating for three on the flybridge. Below deck, the Continental’s well-finished interior is arranged with a single stateroom forward with a privacy door, convertible dinette to port, and a convertible settee to starboard The galley is positioned near the companionway within easy reach from the cockpit. Engine access is very good as is visibility from the lower helm, and the flush cockpit is large enough for several deck chairs. A solid and seaworthy boat, twin 330hp gas engines cruise the Stamas 32 Continental at 22–23 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 30 knots.
