Silverton Yachts
34 Convertible
1983–88
The top-selling boat in her class during most of the 1980s, the Silverton 34 Convertible pictured above is an updated version of the original Silverton 34 Convertible produced in 1978–82. Like so many Silverton models before or since, the 34’s super-competitive price was her most compelling feature and she quickly became known as a lot of boat for the money. Built on the same solid fiberglass hull as her predecessor, a choice of galley-down interiors was available, one with a double berth in the forward stateroom and the other with V-berths. A lower helm was a popular option and large wraparound windows admit tons of natural lighting throughout the salon and galley areas. While the Silverton 34 was an inexpensive boat with low-cost furnishings and so-so fit and finish, there’s much to admire in her efficient use of space and her impressive list of standard equipment. The cockpit is large enough for occasional fishing adventures, and seating for four is provided on the flybridge. Additional features include a roomy engine room, wide side decks, bow pulpit, and teak interior accents. Crusader 270hp gas engines cruise at 16–18 knots (mid to high 20s top).
