312 Sedan Cruiser

Silverton introduced the 312 Sedan in 1993 as a budget-priced family cruiser with sleek styling and—unusual in a flybridge boat—sterndrive power. (Indeed, sterndrive-powered convertibles from U.S. builders are practically nonexistent.) Silverton sold a lot of 312 Sedans in the late 1990s and she was widely viewed as a lot of boat for the money. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with an integrated swim platform, the bare-bones interior of the Silverton 312 includes a convertible U-shaped dinette to port in the salon, opposite a full-service galley with alcohol/electric stove, 110V/12V refrigerator, and tons of counter space. The forward stateroom has an angled double berth, hanging locker, and privacy curtain, and the port guest stateroom has over/under berths and privacy curtain. A fully instrumented lower helm was optional. A sliding glass door opens to the cockpit where a transom door is standard and molded steps lead up to a large flybridge. Fender racks are built into the swim platform, and lounge seating on the bridge will seat four. Early models with MerCruiser 190hp MerCruisers I/Os cruise the Silverton 312 at 16–18 knots. Later models with MerCruiser 235hp V-drive inboards cruise at 18–20 knots.
