Sealine Yachts
S48 Sports Yacht
2001–06
Even if the styling of the Sealine S48 seems a little overdone, few will disagree that this is one of the most innovative sport yachts on the market. Foremost among her unique features, an ingenious sliding transom section allows for the easy float-on/float-off launch and recovery of a dinghy or PWC. The spacious cockpit is notable for its seating for ten around two cocktail tables, and the Sealine’s hardtop houses a Bimini extension to completely shade the aft cockpit. Note the cockpit side door, a thoughtful feature that greatly simplifies foredeck access. Below, the S48’s stylish interior consists of two private staterooms, each with a queen-size berth and ensuite head. At first glance, the aft cabin seems the most inviting place to bunk until the lack of storage space is noticed. The large galley area would embarrass many 60-footers, and two overhead hatches provide plenty of lighting and fresh air into the salon. Note that the S48 was the first Sealine to offer a computer-controlled joystick steering system fed with inputs from both engines and thrusters. Volvo 480hp diesel inboards will top out at just over 30 knots, and optional 635hp Cummins diesels will reach a top speed of about 35 knots.
