Pacemaker
62 Cockpit MY
1973–1980
The Pacemaker 62 Cockpit Motor Yacht is basically a Pacemaker 57 Motor Yacht with a cockpit extension. (Interestingly, the 62 preceded the 57 by several years—it’s usually the other way around.) The hull and flybridge are solid fiberglass, however the superstructure is a combination of fiberglass and glass-over-mahogany, and the decks are teak. Unlike most flush deck motor yachts with their semi-enclosed pilothouse/aft decks, the 62 Cockpit MY features a fully enclosed and paneled aft deck which is essentially the main salon. Below, the lower-level salon is generally used as a formal dining area. The galley and dinette are forward, and crew quarters in the forepeak include a full head, built-in washer/dryer, and direct access to the engine room. There are two large staterooms and two heads aft, and a door in the owner’s stateroom provides access to the cockpit. Note that a small observation platform overlooks the cockpit. Topside, the flybridge is arranged with the helm forward and guest seating aft. Standard GM 8V71TI diesels cruise the Pacemaker 62 Cockpit MY at 14–16 knots, and optional 8V92TIs cruise at 18–20 knots.
