Pacemaker

46 Motor Yacht

1977–80

Pacemaker 46 Motor Yacht
There are those who consider the Pacemaker 46 to be one of the best-looking flush deck motor yachts ever designed. (Indeed, when Pacemaker went out of business in 1980, the molds to the 46 were immediately picked up by Uniflite and, a couple of years later, by Chris Craft.) She was built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate bow flare, a shallow keel, and a nearly flat aftersections. The interior of the Pacemaker is a bit unusual; adjacent to the master stateroom is a study—complete with a desk, bookshelves and cabinets—which can quickly be converted into an extra stateroom. The salon is amidships, four steps down from the pilothouse, and a big step-down galley is forward of the salon to starboard. Aft, the spacious master stateroom has a queen-size bed, extensive drawer and cabinet space, and a walk-in closet. The semi-enclosed pilothouse/aft deck is huge with the capacity to entertain a small crowd. Additional features include wide side decks, wing doors, foredeck seating, and teak interior woodwork. Twin 435hp 8V71 turbo-diesels cruise the Pacemaker 46 MY at a respectable 18 knots (about 20 knots top). Note the modest fuel capacity.
