Ocean Alexander Yachts
600 Classico MK I
2001–03
Long-distance cruising in luxury and safety is the aim of the Alexander 600 Classico, and judging from her broad-shouldered appearance and solid construction few will doubt her offshore capabilities. Everything about this boat—from her classic Portuguese bridge to her lavish full teak interior—is designed to appeal to the serious cruiser. She’s built on a very beamy hull with cored hullsides, shallow prop pockets, and a long keel for directional stability. A semi-custom yacht, her standard three-stateroom interior features a beaujpgully appointed salon separated from the mid-level galley by a serving counter. There’s a full dinette in the pilothouse where reverse front windows reduce glare and add a distinctive styling touch to the boat’s profile. The flybridge, with its centerline helm and U-shaped dinette, can be reached from either the cockpit or a teak staircase in the galley. Aft, a cockpit lazarette provides access to the standup engine room (which may also be reached from the master stateroom). Standard 660hp Cat diesels provide a cruising speed in the mid-teens and a top speed of close to 20 knots.
