480 Sport Sedan
A successful blend of raised pilothouse styling and versatile accommodations, the 480 Sport Sedan made the cut with yachting enthusiasts drawn to Ocean Alexander’s long-standing reputation for quality. She’s built on a lightweight semi-V hull with a relatively wide 15'6" beam, balsa-cored hullsides, and propeller pockets—the first (but not the last) Alexander model to incorporate pockets to reduce shaft angles and draft. The split-level salon/pilothouse floorplan of the 480 is arranged with the galley forward, opposite the lower helm position. An L-shaped sectional sofa to port dominates the salon with its wet bar, entertainment center, and large cabin windows. Note the handsome Burmese teak woodwork. There are three staterooms below including a large master suite forward with island berth, and matching guest staterooms with single berths. Both heads are fitted with separate stall showers. Additional features include a sunken foredeck sun pad, roomy cockpit (with molded steps at the corners for deck access), and a spacious, well-arranged engine room. Yanmar 440hp diesels—small engines for a 48-footer—cruise the 480 Sport Sedan at 18 knots (low 20s top).
