42 Sport Sedan

Very confusing boat Introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the company’s earlier 42 Sedan, the 420 Sport Sedan (called the 422 Sport Sedan in 1998–2001) has a more rakish profile than her predecessor together with a reworked hull bottom with propeller tunnels to reduce draft and shaft angles. From the large cockpit, a pair of sliding glass doors open to the single-level salon where an L-shaped settee is to port and a raised galley forward, opposite the lower helm. Two staterooms and a single head are forward Note the step-down storage room (with an engine room access door) behind the head compartment. One of the more attractive features of the 420/422 Sport Sedan—or any Ocean Alexander yacht for that matter—is the handcrafted interior teak joinery. From the cockpit, molded steps at the corners lead to the wide side decks and a transom door opens to the swim platform. Among several engine options, Yanmar 440hp diesels deliver a cruising speed of 22–24 knots and a top speed of 26 knots.
