Embassy 44 Sundeck
Built by Nova and marketed in the United States under both the Galaxy and Embassy nameplates, the 44 Sundeck was a fairly popular model during her production years thanks to an affordable price and a modern profile. She rides on a conventional modified-V hull with cored hullsides and a relatively wide beam. Inside, the two-stateroom floorplans are arranged with the galley and dinette down, and both heads are fitted with separate stall showers. Note the angled companionway steps leading from the salon down to the galley. Most 44s were delivered with a traditional full teak interior, although light ash or oak woodwork was available in later models. The side decks are wide enough for secure passage around the house, and the full-width aft deck can accommodate several pieces of deck furniture. Topside, the somewhat boxy helm console provides space for flush-mounting some electronics, and there’s plenty of bench seating for guests. With popular 375hp Cat diesels, the Embassy/Galaxy 44 Sundeck will cruise at 20 knots and reach a top speed of around 24 knots.
