Mikelson Yachts 59 Nomad
The Mikelson 50 Nomad is a long-range fishing boat whose distinctive pilothouse design is unlike any other production sportfishing boat currently on the market. This is a yacht engineered for extended cruising, an objective she achieves through a unique hull design capable of impressive fuel efficiency at relatively high speeds. Built on a modified-V hull with a deep keel, propeller pockets and a broad beam, each Nomad interior can be custom designed for the owner, and several floorplan options are available. In the standard three-stateroom configuration, the cavernous full-beam amidships master stateroom—with its private salon access—rivals the owner’s suite of an 80-footer. The pilothouse is also huge, and a portside door leads to a wraparound Portuguese bridge. Aft sliding salon doors open to the Nomad’s large afterdeck that, in turn, overlooks the teak-planked cockpit with its two huge livewells and large-capacity fish boxes. Note the absence of a traditional flybridge. Additional features include a very spacious engine room, aft crew quarters with washer/dryer, and an extended hardtop with dinghy storage. Cruise at 12–15 knots with Cummins 635hp diesels.
