43 Sportfisher

1997–2017

Mikelson Yachts 43 Sportfisher
A popular boat on the West Coast, the Mikelson 43 was an innovative boat when she was introduced in 1997. Lower, wider, and more rakish than other convertibles, she is also remarkably fuel efficient. The 43 offers many of the attributes of the larger Mikelson 50 Sportfisher including a fully cored hull, large flybridge, and the distinctive styling common to all Fexas designs. With nearly 16 feet of beam, the Mikelson is a big 43-footer. Entering the vast cherrywood interior (updated in 2006 when the galley was moved aft), large wraparound windows flood the entire salon in natural lighting. The master stateroom with private head access is forward, and the guest stateroom to port has a lower double berth and upper single. Both staterooms share a common head/shower. Note that the galley-aft layout has an opening window to the cockpit. A bait tank, fish boxes, tackle storage, and day head with shower are standard in the cockpit. Molded stairs ascend to a huge flybridge with fore and aft controls, circular settee, and fiberglass hardtop. Cummins 450hp V-drive diesels cruise at 22–24 knots. Later models with Cummins-Zeus 480hp pod drives also cruise in the mid 20s.
