Luhrs Yachts
300 Tournament
1991–96
The Luhrs 300 Tournament is an updated version of the earlier Luhrs 290 Tournament (1989–90) with several notable improvements including a windshield (which the 290 somehow lacked), and a fully integrated swim platform. A sporty walkaround cabin with innovative layout and straight inboard power, she was not one of Luhr’s better selling boats during the 1990s. Standard features included a tower with full controls, integrated swim platform with ladder, molded bow pulpit, large-capacity in-deck fish box (aft), bait prep station with sink and storage, aft-facing cockpit seats, raw-water washdown, transom door, trim tabs, and cockpit lights. The livewell location—on the swim platform—is certainly unique. The helm seat lifts for quick engine access, and the entire deck lifts for full access to the motors. Below, the 300 Tournament’s functional cabin with teak trim, compact galley cabinet, enclosed head/shower, and convertible dinette/V-berth sleeps two. Twin 270hp gas inboards cruise at 20–22 mph (26–28 top). Optional 170hp Yanmar diesels cruise in the low 20s as well.
