Luhrs Yachts
250 Open
1993–1996
The Luhrs 250 Open is an inboard-powered fisherman with a spacious cockpit and overnight accommodations for four. She’s built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with a wide beam and a well-flared, Carolina-style bow. Inboard power is rare in a boat this size, but the 250 will appeal to anglers seeking the reliability (and economy) of inboard engines as well as the open-cockpit, full-transom design that inboards allow. Her practical deck layout is arranged with the port and starboard lounge seating—enough for six adults—on an elevated bridgedeck, a couple of steps up from the cockpit level. An oval livewell is built into the transom, and a lazarette beneath the cockpit sole provides extra storage space. Four rod holders come with the (standard) soft-top half tower. Below decks, the dinette seats flip up to provide two upper berths, and a curtain encloses the head area for privacy. (Note that this is not an enclosed head compartment.) Additional features include a small galley area with space for a cooler, a swing-away helm seat, and tackle drawers. A single 320hp gas inboard will cruise at 18 knots (high 20s top), and twin 280hp gas inboards cruise at 26 knots (low 30s top).
